Ways to give
People give us money in various ways – weekly, monthly, annually, occasionally. Since we are a small congregation with no endowment, ALL our financial resources come to us as direct gifts.
We rejoice in this situation as a daily reminder of our complete dependence on God for all that we need, and we have been amazed by the abundance of what has been provided. Each time we receive a contribution from inside or outside of the church we give thanks for it and try to use it as God would have us do.
We regard our finances as a sort of educational enterprise, teaching us to grow in trusting God, and being an example to others of the joy and health that results from making that trust the foundation of all that we do.
Weekly Offerings
One of the most basic ways that we give to the church is in our weekly ‘offering’ at the Eucharist, as we contribute money for the work of God’s Kingdom – the money being a symbol for all that we have, all of it a gift from God.
Planned Giving & Annual Pledges
Some members make an annual ‘pledge’ to the church, estimating and planning their giving for the coming year. Your annual gift helps us budget for ongoing expenses, programs, utilities, scheduled maintenance, etc.. Each November is Stewardship Month when we seek pledges and pledge renewals. As a member in good standing you share a voice and a vote in the budget and business of the church.
Memorial & Legacy Gifts
Look around our church. Many of the beautiful features are gifts in memory of loved ones. What better way to remember a cherished loved one? Some examples of existing memorial gifts include: Sanctuary windows, brass appointments, wooden furnishings, altar linens, parish appliances, exterior signage, landscape plantings, just to name a few. We will also work with you to create a meaningful Legacy Gift, transfer Gifts of Stock, or Gifts in Kind. Contact Anne Bardol to discuss the details.
Donations
We are grateful for all gifts and seek to help our members grow in thankfulness and intimacy with God through their giving. Please visit the Holy Cross “Wish List” for specific items we would graciously welcome and appreciate at any time.
