It was nip and tuck for the Wine Fest this year. Our grape pie/bake sale started off on Friday with rain all day, which really ‘dampened’ sales. But we kept on baking those wonderful grape pies and praying that the weather would be better on Saturday and Sunday. Well, to our surprise we sold all the grape pies – 235, to be exact – and most of the baked goods, for a total of over $3,000.
Join us at Holy Cross on October 9th for an evening of classical piano performed by C: Sharp!
Our third concert in the Second Sunday Series will feature well-known classical piano works, mostly in the keys of C-sharp major and minor, including the ‘Moonlight’ Sonata of Beethoven and Chopin’s Fantaisie-Impromptu and two waltzes. Also on the program will be a Bach prelude and fugue in C-sharp, a Mozart sonata and Debussy’s Arabesque #1.
The Spring yard sale started out with a bang, as we had to do all the setup after the GECAC financial-management class was over on Thursday evening, May 13. But we got it all done and welcomed our first customers bright and early on Friday morning. We had plenty of staff for the whole two days and plenty of stuff to sell, and we sold $1150 worth of it, a new record.
We were delighted to take all our leftovers (not too much this time!) to Project Love in North East.
